I took a last minute mini road trip with my Mom, nieces Abby and Alaina, and my little guy Oliver last week. Going up to Laporte, Minnesota is like a little escape to my childhood. Though many years have passed and changes have happened, there is still something special about the long car ride, the familiar knick-knacks Grandma has around the house, and the warm hugs to say hello and goodbye.
Funny thing, looking at the images I took I realize I hardly took any of Oliver. I think it's because I see him every day, and was so excited to be able to spend time with my nieces. Documentary photography is harder than it seems. Things happen, moments pass you by and sometimes, it's best to live in those moments instead of capturing them.
Here's a little peek into the hours we spent together.
“What day is it?"
It's today," squeaked Piglet.
My favorite day," said Pooh.”
